As part of City. Country. Stage., Chemnitz’s independent performing arts scene will be presenting several contributions at KOSMOS. The Offenes Tanzlabor will be staging a performance from its current work. Heda Bayer will also be presenting her own artistic contribution. To complement this, representatives from the Chemnitz Association for Independent Performing Arts* will engage in conversation with the audience.

About KOSMOS
KOSMOS Chemnitz is a cultural festival encompassing music, social events, sport and art, which attracted over 115,000 visitors in 2025. It offers a wide range of activities and performances featuring artists, musicians, initiatives, businesses and sporting personalities, underlining its diversity and inclusivity.
KOSMOS Chemnitz is a festival for democracy, a network and a platform for debate and discussion. It facilitates an exchange between cultural practitioners and engaged citizens on issues relevant to our society and the future of Chemnitz and Europe. Here, the democracy of tomorrow can be shaped by presenting the ideas and visions of all participants, regardless of their background or religion. It offers an opportunity to champion openness to the world, tolerance and moral courage, and to play an active part in the further development of the city and its residents.
This year, the festival site stretches between Hartmannplatz, Schmidtbankpassage and Kaßbergauffahrt. The streets An der Markthalle and Fabrikstraße, the Hartmannfabrik, the Hartmannhalle, schools and surrounding green spaces will also form part of the festival. The new site offers plenty of space for new formats and exciting developments.
