Wilfried Meister,

the inventor of the ‘Theatre Effects’ programmes, was for many years the chief prop master at the State Theatre in Weimar. Drawing on his knowledge and experience in theatre, and driven by his love of performing—particularly for children—he developed the innovative format of the
‘interactive theatre’ as a storyteller, which he still offers today in a more refined form.
It awakens a love of theatre in the audience, encouraging them to join in, with fun taking centre stage. Even at a young age,
children come into contact with the world of theatre and experience with excitement
and enthusiasm what remains hidden from the ordinary visitor. Adults
enjoy discovering the effects and are able to view the next play in the theatre with
a completely different perspective. At the German National Theatre in Weimar,
the “Theatre Effects” programme was a permanent fixture in the repertoire for many years.
