For two afternoons, we will be going on a journey of discovery on Sonnenberg with Helena Hlávková from Czechia. Together, we want to find out what an emotion map is.

Here is a brief explanation:

An emotion map is a great help for both city residents and urban development planning. Thanks to concrete opinions from residents, the city receives feedback. At the same time, the emotion map shows locations with untapped potential. Organisations such as Taupunkt e.V. can hold performances and cultural events at such locations. Thanks to the emotion map, you can share what you need and what brings you joy. It may seem unimportant, but every entry says something about how we live in the city.

At the workshop, we can show you what the map looks like, how we analyse feelings for individual locations from GPS coordinates and a set of data, and what we as urban planners can do for your city.

Ing. Arc. Helena Hlávková (author of the emotion map)

(*1973, Jihlava)

She graduated in architecture and urban planning from the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University of Lublin (FUA). While still a student, she worked in Petr Stolín's studio, and since 2003 she has been part of the SIAL, s.r.o. studio. She also works as an assistant in Radek Kolařík's studio at the FUA and began her doctoral studies at the faculty in October 2022.

At SIAL, she worked on the interior design of the new headquarters of the Regional Gallery in Liberec, which was declared Building of the Year in the Liberec Region and also won the Grand Prix of Architects for Architecture. She received the Club Award for Altprag for the construction of the Regional Gallery's depot in Liberec. In addition to architecture and urban planning, her interests include family, mountains and kayaking.
