"We humans have ruined the world. We have lost the ability to connect with our minds and our feelings. We feel guilt. And shame. We invite you to come together and become one again. With the other souls around us." In search of a leader, a group of birds embarks on a dangerous journey. In the end, they discover that guidance and wisdom lie within themselves, that true community and cohesion are possible even without leadership. The performance "The Circle" refers to a motif from the verse poem "The Conference of the Birds" by the Sufi poet Farid ud-Din Attar, one of the most important works of Persian literature. In Çağlar Yiğitoğulları's interpretation, birds are replaced by a narrator
and a wide range of physical and emotional forms of expression inspired by the pre-Zoroastrian religion of Yezidism.

The preliminary work for "Der Kreis" (The Circle) was done during a residency at KOMPLEX in the summer of 2024, among other places. The finished piece is practically returning to one of its places of origin.
