How do we imagine a shared future not only for ourselves, but also for our grandchildren? What do we hope and want to create for them? Can our hopes be fulfilled?
IHOPEIWILL explores our shared future amid ongoing political tensions and escalating climate challenges. It conveys a sense of anticipation and hope despite the prevailing atmosphere of fear and great uncertainty around the world.
IHOPEIWILL is an event that combines physical performance, sound design and visual installation. Each of these media works independently, side by side and simultaneously in synergy, forming an organic whole.
The inspiration for the piece came from conversations with people in which we were interested in the optics of personal, family environments and relationships across generations. What do we imagine for the future, not only for ourselves, but also for the generations after us? What kind of world do we want for them and what can we do to fulfil these wishes?
IHOPEIWILL thus becomes an artistic reflection on the current development of society and our responsibility towards future generations.
